About Hugo Cortes

I was born and raised in Dover, NJ growing up with an appreciation and love for the arts.  After graduating high school I attended the University of the Arts majoring in Illustration with a concentration in editorial illustration.  After graduating in 2010 with a BFA, I began working with children in such programs as City Year Greater Philadelphia and other summer camps and Early Education Centers.  Soon enough, working with children inspired me to begin writing and illustrating Children's Books.  After the 2016 election cycle, I dove back into the world of politics and now bounce between the wonderfully mismatched topics of politics and children's books. ​
